Sintflut

Broken Social Scene - Sentimental X’s
Off and on is what we want
What we want is off and on
Sentimental all of you
I love you
The oh so comforting halt of things.
The tranquilizing certainty that it’s in no other’s hands but yours.
Then again the echoing phrase that no one said it was going to be easy. It’s the simple knowledge that you find out to be the hardest to take in.
It’s insane, I know now, but frankly I think it was just to render an emotion.
The deep-seated disgust towards hedonism. It’s blind, crooked and selfcheating.
Companionship. You know, that type of companionship whithout the stupid need to chat all the time.
Assurance, every now and then. Boy, we have progress!
The naked fear towards the idea, that your visions might be nothing else than childhood fairy tales.
The chick in your r.e.m.-driven dream yesterday morning - you met waiting in line at the train station and lost half an hour later in the crowd, after you actually just started to find out that you are really really really intrigued by each other. Damn…
The weirdly pulsed but eventually malicious desire to flare everything you own and leave it behind.
Definitely these hollow inexplicable memories of moments that you never had in your life.
Definitely it’s the total urge to finish what you started.
